Help in case of problems with link pages at this site...
On Zyra's site there are some link pages, for example _cj.htm , and on such pages there are links to special destinations such as other companies. Most people can see them on most browsers, but some can't. So, here's some helpful info in case you are in the unlucky minority who can't see these links...
Another reason could be that it's a link page to a defunct affiliate program. You can check _cj.htm (which we are sure is not defunct!) and see if that works just to make sure. If this works but the other page doesn't, for one thing I would appreciate it if you let me know! e-mail me. Failing that, let's continue with the idea that it could be an ad-blocker type of problem...
These programs are things you have installed for your own good, and they perform a useful task of eliminating annoying pop-ups and distracting banners. However, no such pop-ups and distracting banners exist at this site. See advertising policy. Instead, you are given the chance to CHOOSE what you want to see. Unfortunately, ad-blockers are over-zealous in their censorship of such things, and will quite inadvertently deny you the chance to link to the one and only destination on a page which you have selected.
I have even had people write to me and complain that I have made a page badly by not bothering to put a link in, or that I have somehow made some faulty HTML. Well, it's not true!
So, here's what to do if you get the "no banner / no clickable link" problem on one of my link pages...
1. Check to see if you are in an establishment that has censorship. If so, LEAVE, and try on a computer on which you have some liberty. If it's your own computer, or you have other good reason to believe you should have the freedom to see these things, continue...
3. Have another go at the page in question.
4. If you still see no links or banners, clear your cache (Temporary Internet Files) and have another go.
5. Try this method which has proved effective for someone in this situation: Possible Solution
6. Still no luck? e-mail
Another thing that can have happened is that the affiliate link banners have EXPIRED and left us IN THE LURCH! If that's what's happened, we need to know, so the pages can be mended! Please write in and say! Sometimes it helps to know which _underline pages have gone wrong.
One of the important things to realise about online advertising and affiliate programs is that there are, like in any business, good and bad practitioners. If you have a moral standpoint and would like to put a stop to bad practice, it's important to have a sensible policy and to discourage bad practice while encouraging good practice. There's no point in having a zero tolerance, because it won't help anyone! If you want to reform the world, it's best to have a moderate policy which gives people a chance to do the right thing.
Also, if you hate that which is overcommercialised and corporate, you should be careful in your choice of attack. It's important to know who your friends are. If you eliminate cookies in affiliate links, you will not harm the big corporate entities at all, but will simply deprive affiliates of their commission. Affiliates, incidentally, are often individuals and small companies, and are usually about as corporate as your local corner shop, self-employed window-cleaners, and buskers.
