Accurate blood-glucose calculation by Urine-Glucose Determination

How to get reasonably accurate blood-sugar estimation by means of urine-glucose tests

One of the results of my research into finding a cure for Diabetes


If you have diabetes, one of the problems is that you need to know what your blood-glucose level is, and this requires taking blood tests. Wouldn't it be good if it was possible to use urine tests instead? They are painless and a lot less trouble generally.

The problem is that according to the conventional medical belief, urine tests are wildly inaccurate, so can not be used as a proper blood-glucose determination. This is a misconception

I have found a way to get around the inaccuracies of urine-glucose measurement and to produce a reasonably accurate determination of blood-glucose by means of urine-glucose tests by calculations.

Essentially, the method involves taking the urine-glucose test result and combining it with other factors to convert it into a power figure measured in KCal/hour, ie how much energy per hour is being excreted as glucose. This can then be mapped onto a look-up for blood-glucose. The results are consistent and quite accurate.

The information required for the calculation is:

1. The urine-glucose concentration (in percent glucose or g-mol/l)

2. The quantity of urine (can be measured using a graduated measuring jug)

3. The time (in hours or minutes) since the previous urine output.

What you then do is to multiply the urine volume by the urine-glucose concentration and divide by the time.

This result is the rate of glucose excretion per hour.

If you plot such figures on a graph versus blood glucose, it's possible to calibrate the results so that for any urine test, an equivalent blood test reading can be found. It doesn't take many blood-tests to get a good calibration graph, as there's a simple relationship between Kcal/hour and blood-glucose. In fact the graph is mostly a directly-proportional relationship at the low end! (Ie for low readings, Kcal/hour is proportional to blood glucose).

This method gives you the ability to find your blood-glucose without having to do blood-glucose tests, and instead use urine tests to give reasonably accurate results.

In my experimentation I needed to have graphs of blood-glucose behaviour, so I plotted urine glucose results as blocks on graphs. These blocks had different widths according to time and different heights according to Kcal/hour, and showed average blood glucose changing over time.

Extra note on blood glucose determination by means of urine glucose: It only works if there is some urine glucose. For normal blood glucose levels (below 9 mmol/l) it's not possible to tell what the blood glucose level is by urine glucose!
