Bear Grylls Store
In case you're wondering, Bear Grylls is a character who stars in some astonishing and informative TV documentaries in which he uses his survival skills versus all manner of wild situations. The shows are billed as entertainment, but they are educational. You can learn to survive.
The people at the Bear Grylls Store affiliate program have summed up the style of the adventurous documentaries thus: "So what happens if you’re climbing up a 100ft tree and your foot slips? In fact let’s make it more interesting. Let’s say the tree’s hanging over the Amazon River and its rushing torrents are ready to flush you down some class 5 rapids. But then it gets worse. A tree limb rips through your cargos. As it skewers you like a kebab, leaving you suspended upside down, you think, “This is no minor wardrobe hiccup.” As you hang by the threads of some serious danger pants, you remember that you’re Bear Grylls. You’re the survival dynamo and host of the Discovery Channel’s Man Vs Wild. With a quick whip and snip of your pocket knife, you cut yourself free, swing onto a branch and survive. But barely. And as it turns out, bare-legged".
In addition to such epic adventure stunts as this which wouldn't look out of place in an Indiana Jones movie, Bear Grylls also shows some down-to-earth practical survival techniques. Such things as avoiding sleeping on the jungle floor where all the ants and other creepy-crawlies walk about at night. He explains which plants are edible and which are not, and demonstrates the alleged edibility of plants and animals by eating them and giving some comments on how they taste.
Bear Grylls Store is in conjunction with Craghoppers, which is a high-end outdoor wear shop. I would have thought that the Bear Grylls Store would also stock DVDs and videos of action and advice, but maybe this is a "to be announced" type of situation.
Meanwhile, "Bear's Essential Outdoor Kit" is available, and the usual fan t-shirts etc. These are outfits that don't require dry-cleaning!

I'm an affiliate, and I have emigrated to Panama as a tax exile. I found the Bear Grylls DVD of how to survive in Panama very interesting.
