Book a visit to one of the UK's leading themed attractions - Alton Towers. Is it one for the family? We aren't sure. It is one for the adrenalin junkies though!
"Alton Towers Resort is the UK’s leading short break resort, offering as it does an unrivalled selection of attractions for the whole family to enjoy together.
The origins of the Towers themselves date back to the 8th century, although the theme park and hotels are slightly less historic!
Our amazingly themed hotels provide the perfect base for your preparation for marvellous adventures! Guests also enjoy the privilege of Early Ride Time - enjoy the Park for a whole hour before it opens to anyone else!
Regardless of which hotel you stay in, you’ll find you can walk internally between the two so it is easy to visit the Spa in the Alton Towers Hotel or the Waterpark in the Splash Landings Hotel. And you can enjoy all the facilities on offer, including the bars and restaurants".

Caution: Please note: Alton Towers is advertised as a great day out for all the family. However, families are by their nature different from each other. If you have the wrong "child to adult ratio" Alton Towers may not allow you. Please check first! Also, on many of the headline BIG RIDES which make Alton Towers famous, "height restrictions may apply". This is not a deliberate form of discrimination against dwarfs, but there are sometimes problems if any of your children are of a height which is shorter than the height assumptions for the safety equipment on the rides. It's OK for little children who want to go on the kiddie-rides instead; the problem size is inbetween, where the child is just under whatever the regulation height is. Finding out the facts of such rules online is tricky, but you need to, so it doesn't spoil your day out!
