NSPCC
Many children, sadly do not have a stable home life and suffer terrible abuse. The NSPCC is the children's charity, who aim to put a stop to this - find out more below.
NSPCC:
"The NSPCC exists to change our society and bring about an end to cruelty to children.
Our
vision is to help create an environment where all children are
valued and able to fulfil their potential. To this end, we seek
to protect abused children and those at risk of abuse and develop
programmes of action to help rescue and protect vulnerable
children.
We have 177 community-based projects and run the Child Protection Helpline and ChildLine in the UK and the Channel Islands.
Most of our work is with children, young people and their families.
We also work to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, public attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of young people.
ChildLine - the UKs free, 24-hour helpline for children in distress or danger - is a service of the NSPCC".

NSPCC = National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. When someone said "Why is it National rather than Royal?" (as per the RSPCA), a witty person responded "Only animals get Royal patronage!"
